Vertex in Maryland, USA: About the Project
Set in equestrian pastures in Maryland, this knife-edge, one-side infinity-edge pool, complete with dark green tiles, creates outstanding reflections to showcase their custom copper vertex slide. With active kids, they wanted a fast slide with a kick at the bottom to really propel the riders.
As an interior designer, our client wanted the most beautiful and sculptural slide for her exquisitely landscaped grounds. The natural finish of the vertex slide marries with the abundance of natural stone and planting.
The team won the Pinnacle Award for Best Outdoor Project in 2022.
About the Vertex Slide
Pool slide used: Vertex
Custom Vertex dimensions: H650 L119 W328 (cm) | H21’4″ L3’10” W10’10” (ft + in).
Key features: Water-cooled with a switch.
Material of the slide: Copper and marine grade 316 L mirror-polished stainless steel.
Special Considerations for the project
With planting close to the slide, we set the pipework so that only fresh water cools the steps of the slide to ensure the plants are not affected by the circulated chlorinated pool water that cools the entire sliding surface and handrails.
