A contemporary standing water feature elevated by sculptural design
Curvatura is a contemporary architectural water feature that instantly captures the eye through a beautiful balance of opposing forces.
This outdoor water art piece beautifully fuses two opposing elements: the fluid, hand-sculpted curves of mirror-polished, marine-grade stainless steel and the razor-sharp, geometric precision of the water itself.
A true architectural water feature
Pictured below, Curvatura forms a pair of landmark waterfall entry pillars outside the minimalist doorway of a private residence, its crisp waterfall providing a dramatic welcome to the property.
The space is further elevated by the striking inclusion of fire sculpture Orbitas Ignitis, leading up to the house.
It beautifully illustrates how Splinterworks’ diverse sculptural portfolio can be curated together to create a cohesive, high-concept external environment.
Dynamic flow, silent elegance
Engineered for year-round architectural presence, this modern luxury water sculpture continuously adapts to the changing light.
When the standing water feature is turned off, the pristine, mirror-polished concave and convex surfaces stand alone as a minimalist, pure-form art installation, ensuring the piece remains visually arresting in any state.
When active, the water emanates in a linear chevron profile. It falls as a liquescent curtain— with a sharp geometry, counter to its naturally organic flow state, continuously recycled via a fully integrated, silent water pump system.
Architectural adaptability for luxury outdoor spaces
Curvatura adapts seamlessly to a variety of luxury outdoor environments, offering flexible integration that enhances both the visual and sensory experience of a premium space:
- An acoustic sanctuary: when placed near terraces or outdoor living areas, the water curtain acts as a high-end acoustic privacy feature, masking ambient noise to foster a private, quiet area.
- A reflected illusion: the mirror-polished concave and convex curves of this feature play with spatial reflection to continuously shift and re-frame the landscape throughout the day, creating a dynamic contemporary garden water sculpture.
- A monolithic court: when enclosed within an architectural environment like raw concrete or stone courtyard walls, the steady rhythm of the water echoes softly against the expansive surfaces, forming an imposing, sculptural centrepiece.
